አጤ ምንሊክ - ጳውሎስ ኞኞ

Atse Menelik (አጤ ምንሊክ) is a highly comprehensive and critically acclaimed historical biography detailing the extraordinary life, domestic policies, and military leadership of Emperor Menelik II. Mirroring the analytical rigor of his work on Emperor Tewodros, Paulos Gnogno heavily cross-references official royal chronicles with 19th-century correspondence, foreign diplomatic archives, and local oral narratives. The text covers Menelik's early life in Shewa, his rise to power, the legendary victory at the Battle of Adwa, and his massive push to modernize Ethiopia’s infrastructure. It is widely celebrated as one of the most balanced, unromanticized, and foundational accounts of the monarch's legacy in contemporary Horn of Africa historical literature.
