Ye’Ityopp’ya Tarik Ke’Nigiste Saba Eske Talaqu Ye’Adwa Dil (The History of Ethiopia from Queen Sheba to the Great Victory of Adwa) is the final, crowning literary achievement of the renowned intellectual, foreign minister, and diplomat Blatten Geta Heruy Wolde Selassie. Preceded by his 1934 layout piece Wazema, this sweeping chronicle traces the lineage and accomplishments of Ethiopia's monarchs across centuries, beginning with the foundational biblical dynasty of the Queen of Sheba and culminating in the nation's defiant sovereign triumph over colonial forces at the Battle of Adwa. Due to the devastation of the 1936 Fascist Italian occupation and the author's subsequent death in exile, the massive manuscript sat incomplete for generations until his granddaughter officially brought it to print, providing a vital window into pre-war native Ethiopian historiography.
