Biography
Carlo Collodi (1826–1890) was the pen name of Carlo Lorenzini, a famous Italian author, journalist, and humourist. He is globally celebrated as the creator of The Adventures of Pinocchio, one of the most translated and enduring masterpieces in the history of children's literature.

He adopted the pen name Collodi from the name of the Tuscan village where his mother was born and where he spent much of his childhood.
In 1881, he published the first chapter of Giornale per i bambini (Children's Magazine), titled Storia di un burattino ("Story of a Puppet"). The serialized stories grew immensely popular and were ultimately compiled into the legendary 1883 novel.
